| Abstract | Avian influenza viruses play a crucial role in the creation of human pandemic viruses. In this study, we have demonstrated that both human and avian influenza receptors exist in cells in the respiratory and intestinal tracts of chickens. We have also determined that primarily cultured chicken lung cells can support the replication of both avian and human influenza viruses. |
